Sanders Family Papers, 1840-1930.

The Sanders Family Papers include personal letters, postcards, dance invitations, bills, receipts, and various legal documents that date from the 1840s to the 1930s. Correspondence is arranged chronologically but includes many undated letters in a separate folder. About half of the collection consists of bills, receipts, and checks. One folder contains legal material, such as land-grants and information on soldier's pensions. Also included are miscellaneous items, including a photo, a notebook, and a campaign card. In addition to the folders, there are two small boxes of postcards, which are organized by recipient.

The Sanders were inhabitants of various towns in Madison County, Florida. The materials reveal that family members and correspondents lived in Ebb, Quitman, Mosley Hall, and Greenville. Edward B. Sanders (1848-1923) and his wife Almera E. Sanders (1855-1941) were parents to a daughter who died in infancy.
